hopi ear candles

What does the treatment entail?

The client lies down, fully clothed, on their side with their head supported by a pillow. Once comfortable, a Hopi Candle made from organically grown flax, extracts of honey, beeswax and herbs is lit and placed in the outer ear passage. As the candle slowly burns down (and this can take up to 12 minutes) it creates a warm, comfortable sensation accompanied by some hissing and crackling noises which are reminiscent of lying in front of a log fire.

The gentle heat generated by the candle creates a light suction action known as the “chimney effect” and the slight vibration of the flame creates a massage effect on the eardrum which equalises the pressure in the sinuses, forehead and ear whilst slowly loosening any impurities, to draw them away from the ear canal. These impurities are then expelled naturally by the body over the next few days.

This process is then repeated on the opposite ear.

Beneficial for:

Cleaning out excessive or compacted wax in the ears
Eliminating backed up mucus
Alleviating allergic conditions
Discouraging candidia
Reducing sinusitis
Enhancing hearing, taste and smell
Relieving ear pain
Balancing ear pressure (esepcially effective before flying)
Noises in the ears, ringing, tinnitus

When should ear candling not be performed?

If you have or are experiencing any of the following:
Perforated ear drum
Recent ear surgery
Ear grommits
Eear infection/imflammation
Allergies to any of the ingredients
